Local Government Map Maintenance at Work: The Fairfax County Case StudyTrack: Cadastral and Land Records

This presentation discusses how Fairfax County, Virginia, has streamlined and integrated its parcel update and data management system throughout its operations. Fairfax chose Esri's ArcGIS 8 and ArcSDE software in combination with NovaLIS' Parcel Editor and GATE. This complete solution enabled them to achieve their goal of updating parcel data and address information. This gives Fairfax a transaction-based updated parcel fabric accessible to its corporate users via ArcSDE and the ability to create their legislated tax maps with ArcMap.
