How the North Central Texas Council of Governments Is Helping to Organize and Coordinate a Regional GIS

This presentation will be addressing the problems and solutions of coordinating and organizing GIS-related events over the 16-county region that NCTCOG represents. Covering 12,797 square miles, a population of more than five million, and membership of more than 231 member governments creates creative projects and solutions for producing and updating a variety of GIS data.
Here are a few of the topics that will be addressed: Cooperative purchases of orthos and contours, Spatial correction and attribute updates for roads, railroads, hydrology, Regional GIS meetings, Coordinating councils, Data clearinghouse, 9-1-1 coordinators, GIS coordinators, and Interaction with State and federal agencies.
