Abstract
Severn Trent Water: Striding Ahead with GIS

This paper tells the story of Severn Trent Water's speedy and successful implementation of its Under Ground Asset Data Management System (UADMS). The project includes Esri GIS implementation, water and wastewater system data conversion, applications development, business process reengineering, network modeling integration, and user training. The paper describes the business pressures that led to STW's decision to implement UADMS and explores the benefits realized to date. UADMS improves access to asset information, increases the accuracy of the data, improves data maintenance, and boosts customer service. These triumphs are enabling the business to manage its assets more effectively.
