Abstract
A Healthy ArcIMS Solution

TRW, Inc., incorporated ArcIMS as part of a new automated system for the Division of Shortage Designation (DSD), Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to submit an application for a medically under served geographic area. The system designates appropriately qualified geographic areas as having a shortage of primary health care providers per sections 330 and 332 of the Public Health Sevice Act. The driving advantage provided by ArcIMS is that all users will access the same geospatial data and related databases, making the designation process accurate, repeatable and defensible.
