Abstract

Intermodal Transportation Management System (ITMS) Transportation Planning Tool
Track: Transportation and Logistics
Author(s): Craig Wahl

The Intermodal Transportation Management System (ITMS) is a transportation planning tool. It is designed to assist decision-makers in identifying transportation system deficiencies and helps in conducting "what if" analysis in reviewing possible transportation improvement projects for California's intermodal transportation system. The ITMS includes all major transportation networks and modes and intermodal facilities for passenger and freight facilities. Analysis is conducted for both current and future year conditions. The outcomes are based on a set of performance measures. The ITMS allows for the sharing of intermodal data, demographic data, and land use information.
