Abstract
Applying GIS Technologies for Creating of the Shelter Object Construction Models

In the framework of fulfilling the Sarcophagus Project, under initiative of Germany and France since 1998, the State Research Institute of Building Constructions performs the work to represent information regarding building constructions of the Chernobyl NPP Shelter Object. The scope of work covers the creation of the initial database (DB) in Microsoft Access, which includes verified data concerning the state of building constructions of the premises and structures erected after the accident. ArcView GIS is applied as a navigator for searching information in the DB using various links.
