Abstract

Integrating GIS to Streamline Existing Work Flow in Warren County, Ohio
Track: Cadastral and Land Records
Author(s): Nick Nelson, Dawn Johnson

This session demonstrates how Warren County is enhancing its parcel-based GIS by creating the Countywide Automated Enterprise System for Applications and Recording (CAESAR), which integrates the County's databases from the beginning of the subdivision/conveyance process--both reading from and writing to the databases. The CAESAR concept is a result of County officials working together toward a vision for a county that relies heavily on GIS and other computer technologies to enhance customer service. CAESAR was created in Cool:Plex, a tool that links the Auditor's CAMA and Records' databases stored on the County's AS400, GIS data stored in Oracle, and Planning Commission's Access data, with plans to link to a DMS in Oracle.
