Abstract
Data Integration from Different Sources and Metadata Modelling: A Case Study

The Department of GIS at the Technical University of Munich, in cooperation with the Bavarian State Forest Service has established a reference GIS for the Bavarian Forest National Park. The cooperation was formed in 1996 to provide the University with real data for research, teaching, and knowlege transfer between the partners. The two major objectives were to integrate data from different sources in Germany and the Czech Republic and to develop a metadata model. The metadata model was implemented on a Microsoft Access database. The geodata is managed with a file system using ArcView 3.2 for analyzing and presenting the data.
