Abstract


Honolulu Water Board Uses ArcIMS to Link Existing Applications and Promote Information Sharing

This presentation will discusses the development of a Web-based GIS mapping application using ArcIMS 3.1 for the Honolulu Board of Water Supply, Hawaii. An overview of the application development process will be discussed, and select application functionality will be demonstrated including



- A document display tool that links to the Board's electronic document management system (EDMS) to display as-built construction drawings, water lateral sketches, and project-related photographs

- A customer service identification tool that links to the Boards Customer Accounting System (CAS) to retrieve billing information

- A password tool that allows administrators to vary the application's functionality on a user-by-user basis to simplify workflow



This presentation aspires to provide a blueprint for creating a Web-based hub to integrate existing operational applications into a single enterprise solution.
