Abstract
Total Integration of GIS in the Electric Distribution Industry

NESA, Denmark's largest electric distribution utility, has over the past couple of years integrated GIS in all of its business processes.
- GIS is used for facility planning, design and construction, fully integrated with SAP.
- NESA's call center uses GIS for tracking outages and dispatching crews, fully integrated with SAP and MDSI (Mobile Dispatch System).
- NESA's distribution network (containing about 7,000 transformer stations) is monitored using GIS integrated with the SCADA system.
- GIS is used in NESA's service trucks for localizing the distribution network.
Business processes and system integration will be treated in detail in the presentation.
