Landmarc Municipal GIS: Customised for the Kanpur City

The objective of the Landmarc Municipal GIS, implemented at Kanpur City, Uttar Pradesh, India, is to increase revenue collection by mapping the properties, water, and sewer network system based on the Chuk, Ward, and Zone and identifying the holes in the tax net, and obtaining tax payers' details. It is an enterprise GIS solution composed of Esri's ArcSDE, ArcView, and MapObjects and Microsoft's SQL Server. The Municipal GIS Client application (MapObjects Engine) has facilities to create, modify, and update the assessment and demand data; maintain the history of the property geometry; and prepare the various On Click Thematics: Land Use, Annual Rental Value, Property/Water/Sewer Tax, Bills Sent, Previous Years' Arrears, Collection, Current Defaulters, New Urban Development, and Excluded Properties. The scale of the map is 1:1,000 and covers an area of 140-square km.
