Abstract
National Regional Sediment Management GIS
Track: Ocean, Coastal, and Marine Resources

This paper describes the geographic information system developed for the United States Army Corps of Engineer's (USACE) National Regional Sediment Management (RSM) Demonstration Program. The Spatial Data Branch, Operations Division, USACE District Mobile, created a GIS to address the data management and data analysis requirements of the RSM Demonstration Program. The GIS provides RSM scientists and engineers with an interface to hydrographic, topographic, photogrammetric, and historic dredge material data for the RSM Demonstration Region, as well as custom applications designed to facilitate engineering analyses. The RSM GIS serves as the link between engineering analyses and regional numerical models.
