Abstract
Building a Real-Time, Web-Based Alarm Status Viewer
Track: New Technology and Technology Integration

This paper will describe the development of a Web-based, real-time interface to a water facility SCADA system running in Oracle. The interface was developed using ArcIMS 3.1 and ArcSDE for the South Florida Water Management District and provides operators with a geographic view of flood control structures, color-coded by alarm status. The paper will discuss the variety of techniques used to create an unambiguous view of critical structures, many of which overlap one other. A description of the distributed system architecture and a demonstration of the application will also be provided.
