Photogrammetry and LIDAR for More Accurate Business Decisions

During the past 10 years, Naval Air Station Patuxent River has been developing an enterprise system including customized GIS tools; these tools assist Installation personnel in formulating timely decisions. In 2001, an engineering scale data collection utilizing aerial photography and Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) was completed to update and supplement existing enterprise data used within the system. This data is integrated with GIS tools to increase the accuracy of the data. The enhanced geospatial data facilitates and supports theiInstallation management and business decision process.
