FEMA GeoIndex Map Publisher: An ArcObjects Application

Developed by Michael Baker Jr., Inc., the FEMA Geo-Index Map Publisher is an ArcObjects application. It automatesg map production of the current inventory of public flood map panels, which represents FEMA's Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM). The application benefits FEMA by making Geo-Index maps with real-time data, which eventually will be served from ArcSDE, instead of FEMA having to order hard-copy maps from the Map Service Center. The current process takes two weeks to produce the most recent Geo-Index map. These maps are important especially in hazard situations in which the Geo-Index can help identify the age of the flood map in that region.
