Abstract

U.S. Bureau of Reclamation's Pacific Northwest NSDI: What Is It?
Track: Federal Government Systems
Author(s): Mike Beaty

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation Pacific Northwest Region's National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) Project is a key component of its GIS and Remote Sensing Program. Following Executive Order 12906, Reclamation is helping NSDI become a reality for the GIS community across the Pacific Northwest. Reclamation's strategy of partnering and technology transfer leverages its in-house geospatial capabilities by joining a network of public and private sector organizations. Reclamation's NSDI Project is using Esri technology to build its water resource geospatial data library. A 10-minute video introduces general audiences to NSDI as a resource management tool on land and water.
