Abstract
GIS Application for Managing the Addresses in Bahrain

Address Management System (ADDMS) is a unique system to handle the address data spatially and automating the address issue process in the municipalities of The State of Bahrain. ADDMS is an user-friendly and flexible application has been developed using SDE, MapObjects, and Visual Basic. Existing address details has been collected through a meaningful integration of all available data from different sources. This paper presents the strategies prepared to develop this application, method of converting the existing information, ADDMS capabilities, and the challenges in implementation of the application in all the municipalities and integration of the application with other systems.
