Abstract


How Can We Make Citizen's Participation in Planning "Smart"?

This paper describes the process used at Metro to realize planning for the public welfare by announcing the citizen the present and future status of planning, collecting and evaluating the citizen's opinions. The Internet is emerging as a tool for satisfying needs and desires of the public but in urban planning, internet does not play a large role in reflecting the opinions of the interested party in Korea. Change of planning policy not in map but in number is given to the public. This web-based planning service shows the planning in 2D map and 3D map, simulates the urban development and operate Web board on which they concrete the problem situation into some question and the participators can propose their opinions.
