Connecting Esri to Anything: EAI Solutions

Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) links your existing systems together using a class of software called "middleware". This paper describes middleware and explains how to integrate Esri with any other application in your organization using middleware technology. An EAI solution that includes Esri needs two parts: middleware, and a mechanism for linking Esri to the middleware. This presentation will review the Esri-supported communication mechanisms and will discuss two categories of middleware: broker-based and message-oriented. Emphasis is placed on the importance of creating enterprise messaging standards.
