ArcPad: Meeting the Field Challenge

Consumers Energy Company has implemented a versatile, highly effective field tool based ArcPad technology. The Consumers field force needed view and redlining access to three primary information sources while in the field, on location, at the heart of a gas and electric utility's operation. Work order construction prints, facilities mapping, and service records are available on pen computers in native file formats. This scalable enterprise approach supports 1,800 field units, each updating information and synchronizing with internal information sources.
