Abstract

Implementing Stormwater Solutions Using ArcGIS 8 Technology
Track: Water Distribution, Wastewater, and Stormwater
Author(s): Stephen Marsh, Bryan Claxton

GIS integration with stormwater models has made huge advances in the past several years. Integration tools such as HEC-GeoRAS HEC-GeoHMS and others have made the development of stormwater models more streamlined for both GIS professionals and engineers. But as technology moves forward, so must the links between GIS and modeling packages. The available tools work with ArcView 3.x or ArcInfo 7.x technology, and don't take advantage of new features available with the release of ArcGIS 8. This presentation will cover the successes and failures of stormwater integration into ArcGIS 8 technologies, including implementation of stormwater geodatabases, construction of enclosed systems, hydrologic and hydraulic model linkages, and importing of flood elevations.
