Abstract
Rapid Initial Criterion Key Model for Selection of Suitable Disposal Sites

In this paper ArcView GIS analytical techniques are utilized to construct a rapid initial criterion key model to determine suitable area for disposal sites in response to the Republic Act 9003 of the Philippines (Ecological Solid Waste Management Act). The study shows that GIS is a powerful tool for determining suitable area for the said purpose. GIS makes the data analysis easier, faster, and systematic. GIS-based RICK Model could be used as a basis for landuse planning and provides the resource manager with valuable tools for management and decision making. GIS-based RICK Model offers substancial advantages to hvae sound environment and natural resources management.
