Mapping and Management of Invasive Plants: Camp Dawson, WV
Track: Ecology and Conservation
Author(s): Jeff Simcoe

The Camp Dawson Army Training Site (CDATS) is a West Virginia Army National Guard training facility, located in Northeastern West Virginia. Recently the Camp Dawson Natural Resources Office (CDNRO) initiated an invasive species mapping project with the help of the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR) Natural Heritage Program. GIS and GPS technology were used by a contracted botanist to process and collect field data. The spatial information collected will be used to develop an Invasive Species management plan for the CDATS. This presentation will cover the goals and methods involved in completing the project.
