Creating Custom Intranet Applications for Individual County Departments Using ArcIMS Track: State and Local Government Author(s): Terry Drum Just like other County governments throughout the United States, Polk County, Florida has the desire to support all Departments and Divisions that need access to GIS data. With the creation of our Internet ArcIMS Data Viewer, it was determined that some newly developed data was essential only to the employee of individual Departments and not to be viewed by the public. We have now created three Intranet ArcIMS applications that are specifically intended for individual Division use and we are currently working on number four. These internal applications allow staff members to research addresses, locate water and wastewater lines, place buffers on parcels and fire hydrants, find County-owned land with associated facilities and much more.
