As one of the spatial data framework themes of the Geospatial One-Stop E-Government initiative, the Governmental Unit Boundary Data Exchange Standard is intended for publication as an American National Standard (ANSI). Understanding and implementing this standard is an essential element of boundary data collection, dissemination and use, particularly for those who acquire and exchange the data with others. From this presentation, users interested in the Governmental Unit Boundary Standard will have a better understanding of the content and application of the standard, the benefits of utilizing the standard for their organization, and a basis for implementation. This presentation provides both the fundamental and detailed information essential to understanding and utilizing the Governmental Unit Boundary Standard by offering simple views of the content through working examples.
