The 2002 Economic Map Suite Challenge Track: Cartography and Map Production Author(s): Nick Padfield This presentation will discuss the design and automated production of four different map types that comprise the 2002 Economic Map Suite. The map types include Nation-based maps, Economic Places maps, State-based maps, and Core-based Statistical Area maps. The discussion will focus on the challenges involved in automating the batch production systems/environments to create 10,000 maps in an eleven month time frame.
