 CVRD Land Management Enterprise GIS Track: Cadastral and Land Records Author(s): Marcelo Barbosa, Marina Ando Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) is the largest diversified mining company of the Americas and world's largest iron ore producer and supplier. Its core business includes logistic and electric power. Concerned to bring value to its business processes CVRD begins to integrate geographic information existing in the company in order to develop a Land Management Enterprise GIS based on ArcSDE, ArcIMS, and ArcGIS. It intends to provide standards to geographic data, implement geographic database useful for all company units and objective assessment of interferences upon CVRD's interest areas. Besides, it intends to be a metadata server allowing users to insert, update, delete, and query any kind of data information existing in the company. This paper presents the system master management plan, logical, physical, and data architecture.
