ArcMap as a Quality Assurance Tool in Photogrammetry
Track: Remote Sensing Imagery
Author(s): Ron Frederiks

This paper presents the use of ArcMap, ArcGIS Spatial Analyst extension, and ET geowizards to perform quality assurance of targeting efforts, positioning of aerial photography and analysis of analytical aerotriangulation. Planned target location data are compared to GPS (global positioning system) surveyed target location data. Planned flightline photo centers are compared to airborne GPS derived photo centers to detect possible flightline anomalies. Aerotriangulation results are overlayed and analyzed to detect potential control and tie point problem areas and to determine flying height above terrain. The necessary reformatting of point data that is generated from different software packages is discussed.
