Enterprisewide GIS Within the Unified Government of Wyandotte County, Kansas Track: State and Local Government Author(s): David Schaffer, Peter Thum This presentation will summarize the UG's vision and strategy for an enterprise GIS system (E-GIS), report on the current status of E-GIS implementation initiatives, and describe lessons learned to date. The presentation will highlight current technical initiatives including the implementation of a GIS/LIS data repository and Web GIS browser application to serve department general data access and reporting needs. In addition, the presentation will explore organizational changes that are being undertaken including establishment of formal GIS Policy and Technical Advisory Committees and creation of a new Geospatial Services Division within the IT Department.
