Food Security Mapping for Cambodia
Track: Sustainable Development and Humanitarian Affairs
Author(s): Tomoki Fujjii

We estimate the prevalence of stunting and underweight for children under five at the commune level in Cambodia. We combine the Cambodian Demographic and Health Survey 2000, and the 1998 Population Census. We allow for the cluster (village level) effect, heteroskedastic household effect, and individual effect that are correlated across the indicators. The estimates can be mapped out using the Geographic Information System. The maps are useful for analyzing the situation of child malnutrition and formulating targeting policies.
