Abstract
Technical ArcIMS Tips for the Mid-Sized Data Implementation Track: System Implementation for GIS Author(s): Robert Carlos This paper will present lessons learned for the technical integration of ArcGIS Server, ArcIMS, ArcSDE, Oracle8i, and more than 500 GB worth of data for the U.S. Army, Integrated Training Area Management. The challenge of accomplishing this implementation is met by utilizing the resources of effective planning, experienced consultation, and good old team work. Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) has championed a bold, innovative program that utilizes Esri software tools to display disparate data for its United States Army, Europe customers in a efficient and effective manner satisfying a broad spectrum of users from the technical war fighter to the environmental GIS analyst.
