Abstract
Parcel History Tracking Using ArcObjects and VBA Track: Application Development Author(s): Ming Li This paper will discuss the development of a parcel history tracking system to help Lafayette Parish Assessor's Office track and maintain the history of parcel changes that occur due to parcel splits and combinations. The system is developed using ArcObjects through ArcSDE and SQL Sever. It first implements the automation of parcel splits and combinations. As a result, history parcels are stored and maintained as well as the parcel relationships which are defined using a parcel parentage hierarchy developed by the author in describing the interrelationships of parcels involved in the splits and combinations. Using that hierarchy structure, the system provides the functionality of parcel history tracking. This paper will represent an attempt to implement a temporal GIS that integrates the temporal and spatial components by defining the tempo-spatial relationships. Future work includes how to improve the efficiency and scalability of the system.
