How to Make Scanned Maps and Geospatial Data Accessible Online
Track: Education
Author(s): Tsering Shawa

This presentation will discuss how Princeton University Library's Digital Map and Geospatial Information Center has designed system architecture to manage, store, and make the scanned maps, aerial photographs, and geospatial data accessible online to our users. The following software packages were used in designing system architecture: Esri software packages such as ArcCatalog, ArcIMS, and ArcSDE; Mapping Science's GeoJP2 Image Server, Encoder and Decoder; Microsoft's SQL Server database; and Safe company's FME and SpatialDirect. The presentation will discuss workflows and lessons learned in designing the system.
