Enterprise GIS Implementation in Utah
Track: State and Local Government
Author(s): Matt Peters, Michael Foulger

The Automated Geographic Reference Center (AGRC) is the agency in Utah tasked with implementing and facilitating the use of GIS in Utah. AGRC recently migrated from an Oracle/SDE implementation to a SQL Server/SDE solution. AGRC utilizes ArcSDE as the central warehouse for all the geospatial data in Utah. This data is made available to a wide range of state, local, and federal agencies and the general public. We will dicuss the lessons learned and best practices for implementation of a State wide Enterprise GIS data storage and distribution system.
