Training Support Geospatial Information Products: Infrastructure, Management, and Dissemination
Track: Defense and Intelligence
Author(s): Nathaniel Whelan, Hélène Touyéras

The U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR) Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) program is committed to the development, management, and distribution of authoritative spatial information critical to the management of USAREUR training areas. This includes coverage of the 7th Army Training Command Expeditionary Training Center (CMTC Hohenfels; Grafenwoehr), Local Training Areas, and Joint Forward Operating Sites. ITAM's geospatial repository includes master planning, training, and environmental data layers. With the understanding that the power of this repository is directly correlated to its accessibility to joint military decision makers, ITAM has implemented a number of robust geospatial based products and services. These include the USAREUR ITAM Mapper website, ITAM Viewer, Flight Simulators, and Raised Relief Maps. This presentation will provide an overview of the programmatic management, infrastructure requirements, and dissemination issues of a wide variety of geospatial information products servicing a base of 40-60K end users.
