Abstract
ITAM Viewer: Four Years Serving the Training Community Track: Defense and Intelligence Author(s): William von Kader The power of GIS is proportional to its accessibility. The ITAM Viewer makes GIS data widely available to training units, support organizations and decision makers. From humble beginnings to the present format, the ITAM Viewer has maintained its original simplicity of use and functionality, ensuring accessibility to GIS data. Four years on, the ITAM Viewer is a well established product--an ITAM-customized software, and up to ten GIS data layers for training areas and ranges throughout USAREUR, available in a collection of twelve CDs, or a double DVD. An overview of the product development will be given, as well as an introduction to the innovations planned for the 3rd generation of the ITAM Viewer software. In its own website, USAREUR ITAM offers a link to ITAM's web-based GIS solution: the ITAM Mapper. Additionally, the USAREUR ITAM Program has launched Flight Simulators, a Sustainable Range Awareness CD, and the list keeps growing.
