Abstract
 GEOFidelis--The Marine Corps Tool Set Track: Defense and Intelligence Author(s): Denise Smith, Rebecca Peer Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) Logistics and Facilities (LF) letter 8 Sep 2004 formally introduced the GEOFidelis program as the Marine Corps official programmatic response to the Department of Defense's (DoDs) Defense Installations Spatial Data Infrastructure (DISDI) initiative. Since that time, various initiatives have begun at both DoD and Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC) to move us toward the goal of developing a Common Installation Picture. The GEOFidelis Tool Set will supply the tools needed by the Marine Corps GIS professional to simplify many tasks and compile complex planning functions into user-friendly tools sets or GIS project files. The Marine Corps GIS Working Group (MCGWG) has used the "best of breed" approach to determine which tools to include in the GEOFidelis Tools Set. In the Navy/Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) network lockdown environment, the GEOFidelis Tool Set has become the enterprise solution for deploying customized tools throughout the Marine Corps.
