The St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) is an agency created by the Florida legislature to protect and improve/restore water resources in northeast Florida. The overall objective of this project was to document possible pollution loads and rank them within the SJRWMD area. An Arc Hydro data model was used as a framework for updating a Pollution Load Screening Model (PLSM), originally created in 1995 to assist development of the SJRWMD Water Management Plan. Primary data sources for the Arc Hydro were the SJRWMD catchments and modified 100K National Hydrography Dataset. A watershed characterization tool was also developed to summarize geographic and attribute data. The updated PLSM is used for making critical land and water management decisions.
