Abstract
Maintaining Complex Spatial Database in an Enterprise Environment Track: Transportation Author(s): Ali Fatah The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) has recently completed a Street Spatial Database development project. This project developed the first comprehensive, enterprise wide street spatial data model in an urban transportation environment and provides support for transportation agencies, particularly in the metropolitan area, for roadway construction and maintenance, transportation asset management, and incident response and management. However, the biggest challenge during the development of this new street spatial database is to maintain a complex spatial database in an enterprise environment. This presentation will demonstrate the tools that were developed during the project to maintain a complex spatial database by adding and updating spatial features from a single layer while retaining data integrity across the database.
