Abstract
GIS Data and Services: Distributed GIS in the Coast Guard Track: Homeland Security/Homeland Defense Author(s): Mike Lakey Providing GIS data and services to the United States Coast Guard users is critical in supporting the various missions of the Coast Guard, which include marine safety, port security, and law enforcement on U.S. waters. To help support these missions, the United States Coast Guard has created a model for distributing core GIS data and data services to its users. This presentation will discuss how the Coast Guard developed a GIS data warehouse at the Operations Systems Center, as well as how the Coast Guard is using various data and map services to distribute GIS data to a wide variety of applications and users.
