Abstract
Arc Hydro Implementation Approaches and Experiences in Florida Track: Water Resources Author(s): Maryam Mashayekhi, Sandra Fox, Tim Minter, Michele Maierhofer, Lakin Flowers Several Florida water management agencies have embarked on Arc Hydro implementation efforts. South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is utilizing a Prototype-to-pilot-to- production delivery approach to establish Arc Hydro as an enterprise solution for its hydrologic data needs. The SFWMD prototype efforts began with adapting the Arc Hydro data model to support the overlapping needs of four major projects representing the District's mission, while using the Enhanced Arc Hydro geodatabase as a unifying framework. The Four Projects were: Operations Decision Support System; Regional Simulation Model; C-4 Basin Flood Modeling; and Kissimmee River Restoration and Hydroperiod Analysis. Initial Arc Hydro development efforts at the Saint Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) were made by the Surface Water Quality Monitoring Program (Fox et al., UC2179). An active District-wide interest group has led to the development of an agency-wide needs assessment related to future Arc Hydro data and tools.
