Abstract
 Web-Based Dam Operation System Using GIS Track: Water Resources Author(s): Yungsuk Yoon orea Water Resources Corporation (KOWACO) operates multipurpose dams in Korea. Various computer systems support operations, including weather forecasting, flood control, water usage, hydropower generation, environment, water sales, etc. KOWACO has recently developed a Web-based GIS system using Esri ArcIMS and ArcSDE to maintain dam-related spatial data and to make effective use of dam support systems. The GIS system works with the 'dam operation systems' utilizing its spatial data. In this presentation, how the GIS system works effectively will be presented using real-time-based dam operations in conjunction with spatial data. Below are the main functions of the GIS system.
