Migrating CAD into a Geodatabase at Lakehaven Water and Sewer
Track: Surveying
Author(s): Rick Lortz, Bryan Dickerson

Over the past 18 months, the Lakehaven Utility District has embarked on an enterprise GIS implementation that seamlessly ties in with and leverages its extensive CAD data sources and experience. The GIS coordinator has managed a multiphased data conversion project and will share his experiences in moving from a CAD-centric process to a mixed CAD and GIS environment. Topics will include the benefits of a data conversion pilot, geodatabase design lessons learned, data integration between CAD and GIS, and tips for CAD/GIS specialists who are thinking of tackling a similar implementation. The presentation will end with a look at the District's new GIS data viewer: LION (Lakehaven Infrastructure ONline).
