Enterprise GIS in Indianapolis: A Cutting-Edge ArcGIS Server Solution
Track: New Technology and System Integration
Author(s): Richard Petrecca, Jr., Rick Hammond

This presentation will focus on the GIS development that has taken place over the last three years in the city of Indianapolis and its evolution into an integrated, enterprise GIS. During this time, numerous applications have been developed using Esri's ArcGIS Server software. These applications address problems and processes occurring on a daily basis as well as ways to make those processes more efficient. While developing these applications, IndyGIS has strived to develop functional, efficient and cutting-edge applications using the latest technology available such as ArcGIS Server and Microsoft .NET. This presentation will discuss the following topics: integrated components of the enterprise GIS and how they work together, technology that was used, how the enterprise GIS affects all city staff, hurdles involved in implementation, and future evolution of the enterprise GIS.
