Walking Across Remote Terrain... Modeling Potential Temperature-related Dangers
Track: Modeling
Author(s): Bess Kotsiras

This presentation will discuss the results of a master's degree study project that explored ways to predict population flow across sparsely populated areas such as the southwest U.S. region. Spatial Analyst and related extensions were used to model movement trends across rugged areas where no road networks may exist. Variables in the model considered information about the terrain, vegetation, natural and physical barriers, and similar data layers.
