Assessing the Impacts of Sharing Geospatial Data Assets across DoD
Track: Defense and Intelligence
Author(s): Beth Lachman

This presentation will discuss results from a RAND study to assess the mission impacts of sharing installation and environment (I&E) geospatial data assets within the business domain and across the business, war fighting, and intelligence mission areas of the Department of Defense (DoD). The RAND team found that I&E geospatial data assets support a wide range of missions and have diverse beneficial impacts. Mission areas include environmental management, base operations, emergency response, homeland security, transportation management, training, and war fighting operations and planning. This presentation will give an overview of the sharing and methodology for assessing the impact of I&E geospatial data asset use and sharing.
