A CJMTK Common Viewer for the Army's Battle Command Systems
Track: Defense and Intelligence
Author(s): Edgar Shrum

This paper will provide details on the implementation of a Common Viewer that will be provided as part of a Service-Oriented Architecture for the new Battle Command Common Systems. Based on CJMTK, it is designed to provide a standard user interface to the many common services that will be used by multiple systems to perform GIS analysis. Furthermore, it presents the results of a performance analysis of CJMTK 9.2 performed by the Army's Tactical Battle Command. It covers map and military symbology rendering of the CJMTK 2D and 3D map components, and is intended to provide guidance to all the Army systems utilizing the Common Viewers for Battle Command Common Services (BCCS). The tests were run with variations in hardware, data load, map backgrounds, textual labeling, and number of symbols on both a .Net Platform and Java Platform.
