Abstract
IRRIS Technology Leveraged Track: Defense and Intelligence Author(s): Paul Allred GeoDecisions' IRRIS technology has improved efficiencies and streamlined operations for the U.S. military and state and federal agencies. IRRIS technology incorporates advanced information technology, geographic information systems (GIS) and location-based services to support decision makers in coordinating response, managing assets, and tracking equipment or personnel. As a transportation security and logistics application, IRRIS technology integrates a variety of static and real-time information, including road conditions, construction, incidents, and weather, and provides data through an interactive mapping interface. IRRIS was initially funded by the US military. This presentation will cover how government agencies and other branches of the military have leveraged the military's $15 million investment to achieve their strategic missions. Agencies are able to implement this robust geospatial technology framework while using their budgets to enhance/customize datasets, functionality and reporting. Investments made by one organization are then made available to all participating organizations.
