USGS 2008-2018 African Remote Sensing Study Results

The US Geological Survey funded a decadal study 2008-2018 of the use of Remote Sensing data and GIS in Africa. This is a follow on study to the NOAA study for the US, Europe,Canada and Asia.



This presentation highlights the study findings of Esri Software as the leading GIS tool in Africa as well as highlights the 5 and 10 year trend analysis of Political, Economic, Technical and Environmental factors impacting the use of Remote Sensing Data and it's associated components.



Over 400 organizations and over 15 in country African partners were involved in the study providing valuable information concerning their use and need for additional data as well as the applications on which they were the most focused. The respondents represent Academic, Government and Commercial End Users of data and GIS softward.
