Hydro Geodatabase Development Using the Arc Hydro Extension and LiDAR Data
Track: Water Resources
Author(s): Kenny Legleiter

LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) has become a widely accepted tool to generate accurate Digital Terrain Models (DTMs) that are used in a variety of water resource applications. The purpose of this presentation is to discuss the development of a Hydro Geodatabase using the Arc Hydro Extension for the City of Wichita and Sedgwick County, Kansas for flood mapping and recertification of levees by FEMA. The Hydro Geodatabase includes detailed catchments, drainage lines, catchment outlets, and an update to the Watershed Boundary Dataset.
